Introduction: In response to the ongoing challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, our organization, Renukiran Welfare Foundation initiated a relief effort to provide essential supplies to the residents of Yamuna Bank Settlement, one of the vulnerable & most backward communities in Delhi severely affected by the pandemic & natural disasters. This initiative focused on distributing ration kits and hygiene supplies to alleviate the immediate needs of the residents and promote hygiene practices during these challenging times.

Objectives:
  • To provide essential food supplies through ration kits to families facing economic hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • To distribute hygiene kits containing essential items to promote cleanliness and prevent the spread of COVID-19 among the residents.
  • To offer support and solidarity to the vulnerable communities in Yamuna Bank Settlement.

    • Ration Kit Distribution:

  • Prepared and distributed 500 ration kits containing staple food items such as rice, wheat flour, lentils, cooking oil, and spices.
  • Collaborated with local suppliers and ensured the quality and nutritional value of the items included in the kits.

    • Hygiene Kit Distribution:

  • Assembled and distributed 500 hygiene kits containing masks, sanitizers, soap, disinfectant wipes, and informational pamphlets on COVID-19 prevention.
  • Conducted demonstrations on proper handwashing techniques and mask usage to promote good hygiene practices.

    • Community Engagement:

  • Organized awareness sessions on COVID-19 prevention, emphasizing the importance of social distancing, mask usage, and vaccination.
  • Engaged with community leaders and volunteers to ensure the efficient distribution of relief kits and address specific needs within the settlement.

  • Number of Families Served: 110 families in Yamuna Bank Settlement received ration kits and hygiene supplies, benefiting approximately 500 individuals.
