Adolescent Girls & Women Sanitary Pad Distribution in Slum Community Report
In collaboration with LSR College, our organization, Renukiran Welfare Foundation, conducted a sanitary pad distribution initiative in a slum community on September 20, 2021. The aim of this program was to provide essential sanitary pads to adolescent girls and women in need, while also imparting knowledge about reproductive health and hygiene. This report outlines the activities undertaken and the impact achieved during this initiative.
To distribute sanitary pads to adolescent girls and women in the slum community, ensuring access to menstrual hygiene products.To educate participants about reproductive health, menstrual hygiene, and overall personal hygiene.To promote awareness and reduce stigma associated with menstruation in the community.Number of Beneficiaries: 150 adolescent girls and women in the slum community.Number of Sanitary Pads Distributed: 3000 pads (20 pads per beneficiary).Distribution Process: Sanitary pads were distributed in a dignified and discreet manner, ensuring the privacy and comfort of the recipients.LSR College volunteers conducted interactive workshops on reproductive health, menstrual hygiene, and general personal hygiene practices.Topics covered included the menstrual cycle, proper usage and disposal of sanitary pads, symptoms of reproductive health issues, and where to seek medical help if needed.Participants engaged in open discussions and Q & A sessions, allowing them to address their concerns and queries related to reproductive health and hygiene.Practical demonstrations were provided to ensure proper usage of sanitary pads and disposal methods.Pamphlets and brochures containing essential information about menstrual hygiene and reproductive health were distributed among participants, encouraging further reading and understanding of the topics discussed.
